Same Day Emergency Appointments

The office sets aside time in the schedule for patients who call with urgent dental needs. That means when you call and explain your situation, the team can often find a way to see you the same day. It is not guaranteed, and it depends on the day, the schedule, and the nature of your concern.

Calling early in the day gives the best chance of a same-day appointment. If you call in the afternoon, same-day availability may be more limited, but the team will always do their best to fit you in or tell you clearly what to do in the meantime.

Being upfront about this matters. It is better to set realistic expectations than to have you arrive without a confirmed time, or wait longer than you expected.

When urgent time is available, it goes to situations where prompt care makes a real difference:

• Severe or unmanaged dental pain
• A dental abscess or signs of infection (swelling, fever, throbbing pain)
• A knocked-out or partially displaced tooth, which is always treated as high priority
• A significant tooth fracture with an exposed nerve, or a sharp edge injuring the cheek or tongue
• A lost crown or filling with significant pain or sensitivity
• Dental trauma after an accident

Some situations are worth addressing but do not need urgent time. They can be booked within a few days or at the next available appointment:

• A minor chip or crack with no pain, sensitivity, or sharp edge
• Cosmetic concerns
• A routine follow-up after recently completed treatment
• A lost filling with no sensitivity or pain

When you call and explain that your situation is urgent, the team will ask a few questions about your symptoms to understand how serious it is. Based on that conversation, they will:

• Advise whether to come in the same day, book you for the next suitable time, or in serious cases direct you to a hospital emergency department
• Give you first-aid guidance for your situation while you wait
• Confirm a time for you to arrive, so the team is ready when you get there
